I have been using MarsEdit with my other weblog - http://weblogs.education.ucr.edu/breilly — and it has worked fine for short entries. The writing features are a little primitive, but good enough most of the time. I’m trying out Ecto here because I couldn’t get MarsEdit to set up properly with Word Press. So far, Ecto looks very good and seems to have a number of additional features, including integration with iPhoto, although it looks like it just uploads the image directly from iPhoto to the weblog and scales it down — no options for resizing to make it load faster.
